What smallstories is for

This build is designed for people who want to make photos deeper, and more meaningful: printer-friendly sizing for your real life albums, adding children's ages, special place names, and dates that help a picture tell its story.

It is intentionally focused. smallstories helps you focus on the analogue, the real, and turn photos into printable moments and true keepsakes.

Printing

smallstories photos are designed to be printed and shared as physical keepsakes.

Photos are downloaded in 6x4 inch format at 300dpi, perfect for real life albums and frames.

How to print

Simply download your photos and either print them at home on a home photo printer, upload them to your favourite photo printing service, or take them to your local print shop.

The 6x4 inch format is widely supported and the most common print size.

About me

I’m Cassie, founder of smallstories. As a busy Mum I wanted a simpler way to finish family photos for printing, but I found calculating baby ages in photos or remembering where the photo was taken to be so much work.

I also was not comfortable with uploading precious moments into a photo editor, with so many privacy concerns.

With smallstories I can quickly add the info I need from the data already in the photos, and can even more.

The goal is simple: make it easy to bring a little structure, context, and feeling to photos that matter, while keeping the experience private.

Do my photos leave my device?

No. The workflow is browser-based, so your images stay on your device while you edit and preview them.

Can I style more than one photo at once?

Yes. You can edit a single photo, then apply that look to selected photos or the whole batch.

What kinds of story details can I add?

You can work with frame styles, zoom and position, dates, locations, custom text, and ages where relevant.

What size photo do I print?

Photos are downloaded in 6x4 inch (15x10 cm) format at high quality 300dpi, perfect for real life albums and frames. Choose this size at the photo shop, or your preferred way of printing photos.

We recommend choosing JPEG format for online sharing and PNG format for physical prints.

The aspect ratio also works for 8x12 (20x30 cm) inch prints if you prefer that size, but quality may dimish with larger sizes.
